Now Available in Two Bold Colors and Multiple Lengths
To match its cutting-edge performance, the FMJ2 now comes in two vivid, UV reactive, high-visibility color options:
Toxic Green
Blaze Orange
These new UV reactive finishes feature advanced fade-resistant technology, so they stay bold and vibrant longer. Not just to stand out on the water, but also to enhance strike detection during tense battles, giving you unmatched visibility for night fishing and low-light strikes.
This rod is also available in two lengths to suit a range of fishing styles:
7'6" for versatile control.
9'6" for added casting distance, sweep, and leverage when targeting large catfish from bank or boat.
Built to Dominate Any Catfishing Technique
At the core of this powerhouse rod for catfish is a proprietary S-glass and carbon graphite composite blank. The fusion of glass and graphite delivers both brute durability and refined sensitivity — essential for detecting subtle bites or executing powerful hooksets.
The bright rod tip acts like a visual alert system, so you can track movement even in low light or heavy chop. Whether you're tightlining, trolling, drifting, or tossing stink bait, this catfish rod is ready for the job.
Hardware That’s Tough Enough for Trophy Cats
Every component is designed for abuse-resistant performance:
One-piece stainless steel guides engineered for smooth long-distance casting.
Rugged double-locking aluminum reel seat for uncompromising security and lasting durability.
Extra-long handle and foregrip for unmatched control and leverage during hard fights.
Full cork rubber composite grip that resists water, slime, and wear while providing a comfortable, secure hold.
Oversized stainless steel hook tender for quick and reliable rig storage.
Industry-Leading Warranty Protection
The FMJ2 is backed by Whisker Seeker Tackle’s exclusive “Trophy Tuff” warranty — the most comprehensive in the business.
Whether you're chasing channels, blues, or flatheads, this catfishing rod is built for years of hard fishing and big catches.

CHAD FERGUSON SIGNATURE CATFISH RODS: FMJ2 ROD MODELS & SPECS CHART
Compression Tape Core: Provides increased circumferential strength on the internal base layer, the building blocks for a superior fishing rod blank.
Woven Fiberglass Mesh Layer: Creates a lightweight underlying support layer providing tensile & compressive strength, these properties insure optimum performance.
Uni-Directional Carbon Fiber: This non-woven layer features all fibers running in a single, parallel direction. This concentrated fiber density provides the power and backbone.
Woven Nano-Fiber Mesh Layer: This secondary lightweight mesh enhances the underlying tensile and compressive strength reinforcing the action and power in each rod.
Uni-Directional Carbon Fiber: A secondary non-woven layer creates the final support layer that reinforces all underlying layers to insure the overall structure and support needed in a true catfish rod.
Synthetic Polymer Film: A final layer is applied to harden the fibers and proved a smooth finish that seals and protects the composite core.
Rod power is the strength of the rod, (also known as power value or rod weight.) This is the amount of pressure you must apply to make the rod bend.
Rod power ranges from ultra-light to heavy. Different species of catfish or different techniques call for different fishing rods. Heavier power rods require more weight or pressure to bend them, while lighter power rods bend more easily under the same amount of weight or pressure.
In most situations, a medium (M) or medium-heavy (MH) power rod will be preferred for channel catfish, and for blue or flathead catfish a medium-heavy (MH) or heavy (H) power is most often preferred.
Rod action is determined from the position at which the fishing rod starts to bend when a load is applied to it.
Fast action rods will bend mostly in the area around and nearest to the tip of the rod (the last third).
Moderate action rods bend a little deeper through the blank so you have flexibility in the tip and middle of the fishing rod.
