Our 6-pin braking system works by using the principle of centrifugal force. As the spool spins, the brakes extend from the center of the spool to run along a shelf inside the sides of the brake housing, creating friction that slows down the spool. This helps prevent backlash and improves accuracy during casting. The brake force is proportional to the spool speed, which adjusts dynamically to your casting strength.

Gear ratio is a crucial aspect of reel performance. Explained simply: Gear ratio determines how many times the spool turns for each rotation of the handle, in turn, providing the perfect speed & power.

Our Seeker 60 & Seeker 60 Pro reels feature a 5:3:1 gear ratio. This means that the spool rotates 5 times for every 1 handle turn. This ratio also indicates that the drive gear, attached to the handle, spins the pinion gear 1 time for every 3 rotations of the drive gear. 

Understanding gear ratio, and having the right one for your situation, is vital for optimizing reel performance and achieving desired results when catfishing.
