• Rubber sinker bumper or bead
• Heavy-duty barrel swivel (60–100 lb)
• Triple Threat Hook or your preferred hook.

Step-by-Step Guide – How to Rig a Catfish Spook™:

Step 1 – Add Your Weight

Slide a sinker slide onto your braided main line.

Choose your sinker based on how you're fishing:

• Dragging or drifting: Drift weight
• Anchoring: No-Roll sinker

Step 2 – Install a Sinker Bumper

• Slide a rubber sinker bumper or heavy plastic bead onto the main line beneath the sinker slide.
• This protects your knot from repeated impact with the sinker.

Step 3 – Tie on the Swivel

Tie your main line to a heavy-duty barrel swivel using a Palomar, Double Palomar, or Uni Knot.

Step 4 – Tie the Upper Leader

• Cut a 12–24 inch section of monofilament or fluorocarbon leader.
• Tie one end to the swivel.
• Tie the other end to the front (nose) eyelet of the Catfish Spook™.
• The distance between the swivel and the Spook determines how high your bait rides above the bottom.

Step 5 – Tie the Hook Leader

• Attach a second piece of leader to the rear eyelet of the Catfish Spook™.
• This leader should typically measure 4–8 inches.
• Keeping this section short keeps your bait positioned directly behind the float while allowing the Spook to maintain maximum lifting power.

Step 6 – Tie on Your Hook

• Tie your favorite catfish hook to the end of the short leader.
• Popular choices include the 8/0–10/0 Triple Threat Hooks
• Your rig is now ready for bait.

Adjust Your Bait Height

• The upper leader controls how high your bait rides above the bottom.
• Longer leaders create more lift.

Keep the Hook Close

• Keep the leader between the Catfish Spook™ and hook between 4 and 8 inches.
• This allows the float to keep the bait suspended while ensuring a fish immediately feels resistance, helping circle hooks rotate into the corner of the mouth.

Match the Float to the Bait
