Our 60 Series & 60 Series Pro reels feature an innnovative and high-quality 6-pin centrifugal brake system. These systems are designed to enhance control and precision during casting, which can be a game-changer when you're out on the water.
Our 6-pin braking system works by using the principle of centrifugal force. As the spool spins, the brakes extend from the center of the spool to run along a shelf inside the sides of the brake housing, creating friction that slows down the spool. Gear ratio is a crucial aspect of reel performance. Explained simply: Gear ratio determines how many times the spool turns for each rotation of the handle, in turn, providing the perfect speed & power.
Our Seeker 60 & Seeker 60 Pro reels feature a 5:3:1 gear ratio. This means that the spool rotates 5 times for every 1 handle turn. This ratio also indicates that the drive gear, attached to the handle, spins the pinion gear 1 time for every 3 rotations of the drive gear.
